Let's take a look into the crystal ball of the not so distant future.
Flamefall is, in its current state, a very early prototype - but this is just the beginning of our adventure. We are dreaming big and we hope that you will tag along on our journey into the Dark Forest and help us find the Altars of Flame!
There are many roads we could take - game development is always a journey unto the unknown - but luckily we found this map at the edge of the Forest that highlights points of interest that we could explore further:
We're a small team and we will have to take it one step at a time to make meaningful progression, but here are some of our top priorities:
![]() | Combat:We want Flamefall to be a real time RTT. This means that combat should be more tactical than action-oriented. We are actively working on both the player interaction, the enemies, the level design and a whole host of small changes to make the combat more rewarding and meaningful.![]() |
![]() | Items & inventory:The primary progression system in Flamefall will be our items and inventory. Players will find, unlock, craft and manage a lot of very varied items thatβll both give the player new active skills to use as well as enable general power progression for the units in play. |
![]() | World Map:Flamefall is inspired by roguelikes like FTL and we want to have the same feel of progression through a run with a node-based world map that gives the player combats, events, shops and other randomized encounters - the difficulty of the game will be managing the items unlocked and the route taken through the map to the final encounter. |
