Greetings Ember Wardens,

We've updated Flamefall with some big changes:

  1. Darkness -> Moonlight: We hear you, it was too dark - it's less dark now! The moon has risen (just a little bit). It's a balance we'll keep working on so let us know what you think.
  2. Skill interaction: We've redesigned how you interact with the game. You now have to pause the game to use abilities. On top of this all abilities are now pooled together in one menu, making it much easier to get an overview of what you can do and access to actually doing it. We feel like this makes interacting with the game much more direct and impactful.

  3. Bugs: Besides the actual bugs you're squashing in the game, we've also squashed some bugs behind the scenes that should allow for a much smoother experience now...including the fact that you can now fail the game without it locking up (fancy!).
  4. Action queue: You can now queue up several actions for each character while the game is paused. Planting 3 torches and a bomb, shooting rain of arrows there and moving the team over here is done fluently - being executed once you un-pause the game. It's even possible to remove actions from each characters queue if you have regrets.


Our current focus is on combat as a whole. How does enemies work? When do they spawn? How can I anticipate this as a player and be strategic? What kind of skills do we need? How difficult should the game be? Lots of interesting updates to come soon.
